जीवन में किसी व्यक्ति को जन्म से लेकर अपने पूरे जीवन काल में कई प्रकार के आयामों से होकर गुजरना पड़ता है इस विचार के लिए मैं यह कहना चाहूंगा कि प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को जीवन पर्यन्त कुछ न कुछ नया सीखने को मिलता रहता है जैसा कि एक आम आदमी अपने जीवन के सफर में क्या क्या कार्य करता है उन कार्यो को करने में  क्या क्या कठिनाई होती है और वह उन कठिनाइयों का किस तरह से सामना करता उस जीवन काल में क्या क्या कमियों के सामना करता है इस आधार पर कहा जा सकता है कि वह शिक्षित समाज की परिकल्पनाओं को कैसे पूरा करता है इन गति विधियों के आधार पर उदाहरण के लिए अगर देखा जाए तो ऐतिहासिक दृष्टि से जो प्राचीन काल मे आदिमानव रहते थे उस समय की क्या परिस्थिति रही होगी और वे किस क्रम में आज की विकसित समाज को जन्म दे पाए ।

शिक्षा मानव जीवन में जन्म के उपरांत ही शुरू हो जाती है जब बच्चे छोटे होते हैं तो सबसे पहले घर में अपने माता पिता दादा दादी और चाचा चाची व घर के अन्य सदस्यों को बोलते हुए सुनते हैं औऱ फिर उन्ही का अनुशरण करते हुए बोलना प्रारम्भ करते हैं यही से उनकी शिक्षा आरंभ हो जाती है। जब कुछ बड़े होते हैं तो आस पड़ोस के लोगों के संपर्क में आते हैं औऱ ऐसी क्रम में जैसे दादा दादी व नाना नानी की कहानियां सुनते हैं इन सभी से वह अपनी शिक्षा की सुरुआत करता है फिर जब कुछ बड़ा होता है तो विद्यालय जाना शुरू करता है और विद्यालय में शिक्षा प्राप्त करता है एक तरह से देखा जाए तो सीखना ही शिक्षा है और मनुष्य हो जीवन पर्यंत कुछ न कुछ सीख मिलती रहती है।

 आज का समय बहुत ही विभिन्नताओं से भरा हुवा है जिसे सरलता से व्यवस्थित करना बहुत ही मुश्किल है। हम आज जिस सदी में जी रहे हैं उसके पीछे बहुत बड़ा इतिहास है आज की युवा पीढ़ी ओर आने वाली युवा पीढ़ी को इस इतिहास को जानना बहुत ही आवश्यक है। अक्सर यह देखा जाता है कि किसी समाज को व्यवस्थित करने या संचालित करने के लिए शिक्षा अथवा शिक्षित होना बहुत ही आवश्यक होता है।
